Sea Ice

12/4/2017

Woke up surrounded by sea ice! The ship is currently full speed ahead, with both engines pushing us through the 2ft thick ice. We're moving at about 2 knots. The underside of the ice is covered in algae; food for krill. Hoping for lots of seals and penguins soon!

Sea ice is important in our ecosystem, believe me. Well, if you are unaware of it, our ecosystem is in a seriously bad state. If you ask me, people need to go and understand just how great our world is. The amount of ice that is melting is just insane, and we need to do something to protect it. I think that there are lots of problems that will happen in the future, and I just hope that I am not part of it.
